Is the transparent background preserved?

Yes. PNG, WEBP and other images with an alpha channel keep their transparency when exported as PNG or WebP — including areas removed with the eraser and the corners left over by free rotation. If you choose JPG, which has no transparency, those areas get a background color of your choice.

How does the eraser work?

Pick the Eraser tool, set the circle size with the slider, then click and drag over the image. Erased areas become truly transparent (alpha channel) and the result is exported as PNG. Use Undo to revert the last stroke or Restore to bring back the original image. The eraser always shows the whole image: a crop area only takes effect once you click Apply crop.

How do I rotate, flip or resize the image?

Pick the Rotate tool. The 90° and flip buttons apply instantly, with no quality loss. To rotate freely, drag the slider from -180° to 180° and click Apply — the image grows to fit entirely and the corners become transparent, so the result is exported as PNG. Under Resize, enter width × height (with the aspect ratio locked or not) and click Apply. Everything can be reverted with Undo.

How do I adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness and blur?

Pick the Adjust tool and drag the sliders — the preview updates instantly. Brightness, contrast and saturation range from -100 to +100; sharpness and blur from 0 to 100. Click Apply adjustments to bake them into the image at full resolution (pending adjustments are also applied when you switch tools or generate the image). Everything can be reverted with Undo.

How do I apply filters and old camera effects?

Pick the Filters tool and tap a filter: the preview shows right away, and every thumbnail already shows your photo with the effect. There are color filters (Vivid, Warm, Cinema, Dreamy and more), black-and-white ones and old cameras in date order, from the 1840 daguerreotype to the 2005 digital compact, each with the tone, grain, vignette and flaws of its time. Adjust the intensity, turn on Date stamp for the orange date of film cameras and click Apply filter. You can stack one filter on top of another, and each one can be reverted with Undo.

How do I draw or highlight on the image?

Pick the Draw tool. Use the Brush for freehand strokes, the Marker to highlight (it is translucent and doesn't hide what's underneath) and Rectangle, Circle and Arrow for shapes — hold Shift for perfect proportions. To write, use the Text tool. Choose the color from the palette, Custom color or the eyedropper, which picks a color from the image itself. Every stroke can be reverted with Undo.

How do I add text to the image?

Pick the Text tool, click the image and type: Enter applies, Shift+Enter adds a line break and Esc cancels. To reposition it, drag the button above the text box before applying. In the panel, choose the font, size, bold or italic, alignment and color, and turn on an outline and a shadow with the color, thickness, blur and distance you want — the preview updates as you go. Every text can be reverted with Undo.

How do I add a logo or watermark to the image?

Pick the Image tool and click Add image — or drag a file onto the photo, or paste a copied image with Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac). It appears on top of the photo: drag it to move it, pull the corners or use the Size slider to resize it, and lower the Opacity for a watermark effect. Under Position, one click snaps it to a corner, an edge or the center with a margin; while dragging, it snaps to the center and the edges (hold Alt, or ⌥ on Mac, to move it freely). For logos, a PNG with a transparent background works best. Click Apply image and add as many as you like — each one can be reverted with Undo.

Which keyboard shortcuts and navigation features are there?

Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on Mac) undoes and Ctrl+Y (⇧⌘Z on Mac) redoes — including Restore, which can be undone too. With no tool picked and in the Eraser, Draw, Text, Adjust and Filters tools, the + and - keys control the zoom, 0 fits the image back to the screen, and Ctrl + mouse wheel (or a trackpad pinch) zooms in at the cursor; Crop, Rotate and Image always show the whole image. The Before/after button shows the original and the edited image side by side, with a divider you drag to compare.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using HTML5 Canvas. No image ever leaves your device.

Which formats are accepted and what is the output format?

You can upload PNG, JPEG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and other formats. When exporting, choose PNG (lossless, with transparency), JPG (smaller files, no transparency — transparent areas get a background color) or WebP (compact and with transparency; available in browsers that support it). By default, JPEG stays JPEG and everything else is exported as PNG.

Does editing reduce image quality?

Cropping itself doesn't reduce quality. When exporting, PNG is always lossless; for JPG and WebP you control compression with the quality slider and see the final file size instantly. When resizing, the image is scaled down in steps to stay sharp.
